UST-LUGA COMPANY
Ust-Luga Joint Stock Company was established in 1992 to implement the construction project in the Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland of the commercial sea port of Ust-Luga. The multipurpose port is designed for transshipment of all types of cargo, has both universal and specialized terminals.
The project was carried out as part of the Federal Target Programs “Modernization of the Transport System of Russia (2002 – 2010)”, and “Development of the Transport System of Russia (2010 – 2015)”. At the moment, the Ust-Luga project is included in the Comprehensive Plan for Modernization and Expansion of Trunk Infrastructure until 2024.

Terminals and railway infrastructure of the port were being actively built and put into operation. The cargo turnover increased by 20 million tons per year. Ust-Luga entered the top five largest ports in Europe.
The general port layout was expanded for 180 million tonnes of cargo turnover. The document was approved by the Federal Agency for Sea and River Transport.

An automobile and railway ferry complex was put into operation. The ferry line Ust-Luga – Baltiysk – Ust-Luga was opened.

The Federal Agency for Sea and River Transport, the Federal Agency for Federal Property Management and Ust-Luga Company (JSC) signed an agreement on mutual timing of state and private projects in the construction of infrastructure facilities and transshipment complexes. The document is aimed at full loading of internal and external port infrastructure.
The second start-up complex of the coal terminal was put into operation in the presence of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin

The Russian Ministries of Transport and of Railways, the Government of Leningrad Region and Ust-Luga Company (JSC) signed an agreement on the regulation of mutual obligations and the responsibility of the parties for the timely construction of all facilities in Ust-Luga port
The coal terminal of Ust-Luga port made its very first loading.

Ust-Luga Company and the Russian Ministry of Transport signed an agreement granting the company the status of a developer with the right to design and build port facilities and attract public and private investments to the project. The trade sea port under construction in the Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland was named “Ust-Luga”.
A feasibility study of the first stage of the port with an annual cargo turnover of 17 million tons was developed.

Social responsibility
The social policy of the Ust-Luga Company is, in particular, focused on assistance to orphanages, schools, veterans, as well as organization of cultural, educational and sports events for the younger generation to promote a healthy lifestyle, along with developing the original culture of minor nations living in areas of corporate activity.
Environmental protection
Ust-Luga Company, together with the Government of Leningrad Region, participates in the implementation of an environmental program to restore fish stocks, bird nests, rare species of animals and trees. The environmental program stipulated measures for the conservation and revival of the territories of the Kurgalsky and Kotelsky Reserves. The creation of recreational zones, the preservation and revival of natural resources make it possible to minimize any industrial damage.
Today, Ust-Luga Company is taking part in the project to create a new port terminal – the multipurpose transport and logistics complex LUGAPORT.
The project includes an environmental control program for all stages – from design documentation to operation. It includes monitoring of environmental protection and further compensation of biological resources.
