LUGAPORT terminal received the first ship

At the end of January 2023, the LUGAPORT universal trading terminal in the port of Ust-Luga received the first cargo ship – a Liebherr LPS 420 gantry crane made in Germany was delivered by sea.
The delivery of the first gantry crane was carried out as part of a program to equip the terminal with modern high-tech equipment.
Dry cargo ship Rix Spirit delivered a crane to the constructed berth No. 1 of the terminal as part of the registration of the first import bill of lading of the NOVOTRANS company at the LUGAPORT terminal in the seaport of Ust-Luga.
The arrived Liebherr LPS 420 crane weighs 482 tons, has a maximum lifting capacity of 124 tons, a boom length of 48 meters and handles up to 38 containers per hour. The lifting speed of the crane is up to 120 meters per minute.
Due to its characteristics, the universal crane is suitable for efficient handling of both bulk and general cargo, which is important for the LUGAPORT terminal, which will handle a variety of types of cargo.
The assembly of the crane will be carried out within the next month, after which it will be put into operation, and the NOVOTRANS Group of Companies will begin transshipment of cargo at the newly built port infrastructure facilities.
Completion of the construction of the LUGAPORT universal terminal is scheduled for 2024.
